Swallows winter in South Africa
Swallows winter in South Africa. They start their spring migration at the beginning of March and arrive in Poland about mid April. Within six weeks they cover 10 thousand kilometers.
These swallows, which manage to arrive earlier (even as early as 14 March) have more chance to find better breeding habitats and chose the best place to build a nest. However, they risk getting to Poland when there is still winter.
